Greenpeace is calling for the closure of pockets of international waters in the Pacific to all types of fishing in order to rescue tuna from depletion of stocks. Longliners mainly target bigeye, yellowfin and albacore tuna, destined for sashimi markets in Japan and other countries where this food has become popular.
