Whale Meat from Spanish Whaler Sierra
The Spanish whaler Sierra was a controversial pirate whaler. It was owned by Norwegians and operated by South Africans with Japanese technicians on board. The whale meat was sold to Japan and the whale oil to Norway and the EEC. The Sierra was killing every whale she could find, including juveniles, nursing mothers and endangered species. Her career was brought to an end on july 16, 1979 when Paul Watson's boat Sea Shepherd rammed her twice.
