Sea level rise
Sandbag Dike on Pakhiralay Island
Working villagers sit on their sand bags on the island of Pakhiralay. For nearly four days villagers have tried with mud and sandbags to halt the rising sea levels from ruining their rice crops. The rice paddy in the foreground is full with saltwater and will be infertile for many years.

Sea Level Rise in the Sundarbans
The Rainbow Warrior is currently docked at the Sundarbans river delta region, an area which is particularly ecologically sensitive. The crew plant mangroves with the local people. These will help to protect the coast from erosion and will also provide nutrients for fish and capture carbon in their environment.
