Braer Oil Spill in Shetland Islands
Greenpeace in the Shetland Islands to evaluate the BRAER oilspill damage, Scotland. The tanker which ran aground on 5 January is now leaking its cargo of 85,000 tonnes of crude oil into the sea. The Shetlands is an important area for marine wildlife and the small community relies on local fisheries, salmon farming and agriculture, all threatened by the oil pollution.
