Orangutan in Central Borneo
Po, a 8 year old male Borneo orangutan (Pongo Pygmaeus), washes his face inside a cage in Antan Kalang village. According to the local people Po was found in 2001 in an forest area cleared for oil palm plantation.
The consequences of land clearance for palm oil production are devastating for the wildlife in the area, including orangutans who are dramatically threatened by the lost of their natural habitat.
