Aftermath of Hurricane Stan in Mexico
Hurricane Stan has caused an emergency in Mexico. According to the Mexican government figures there are more than 1 million, 100 thousand people who have been directly affected by the floods with an unknown number who have disappeared. In Chiapas alone, 650 mm rain fell in a short period of time causing extensive damage to roads and houses. The flooding has cut off communities resulting in food quickly becoming in short supply.
Greenpeace has installed a collection center to collect food, medicines, water and clothes to send to stricken areas.
