Action against Taiwanese Vessel Nian Sheug in the Pacific Ocean
Activists on an inflatable hold a banner reading 'Marine Reserves Now' next to the Taiwanese tuna fishing longliner Nian Sheug to protest after they discovered 12 sacks of shark fins and tails and yellowfin tuna in the hold. Overfishing of sharks, yellowfin and bigeye tuna are occurring in the Western and central Pacific. Greenpeace is calling for the establishment of the first marine reserve in international waters between Pacific nations.
