The Majuro community of Rita, has been badly affected by rising waters. Aloysius, 58, lives in Rita with his family of 8. He is constantly rebuilding the front yard as rising sea levels are eroding 1-2 feet of his yard away every year. Water comes into their house during king tides and storms. He is very concerned for the future fo his children. Throughout the Marshall Islands the land lies only inches above sea level. Rising sea levels pose a very high risk to the communities in the region. Families are already being evacuated from their houses due to erosion and salination of agricultural land and wells.
