ASEAN Energy Ministers Meeting in Cambodia
H.E. Prach Sun acting Minister of Environment of Cambodia (2nd from left), is being welcomed by Von Hernandez, campaign director of Greenpeace Southeast Asia (extreme left), and Red Constantino, climate and energy campaigner of Greenpeace Southeast Asia (extreme right) at the photo exhibit organised by Greenpeace to coincide with the ASEAN Energy Ministers meeting in Siem Reap, Cambodia. One of the world's poorest nations, Cambodia is already a victim of several extreme weather disasters that the government has linked to global warming. In 2004, a prolonged drought hit 24 provinces and municipalities resulting to 537,340 tons of rice losses and leaving up to 700,000 people with food and water shortages. Greenpeace is calling on ASEAN Energy Ministers to tackle the issue of climate change.
