Climate Action at White House in Washington
Activists representing major U.S. environmental groups including Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, 350.org, Waterkeeper Alliance, Nebraska and Texas farmers and landowners, social justice groups and celebrities gather in front of the White House fence in a non-violent protest against the Keystone XL pipeline proposal. Some 48 leaders were arrested including Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune and Board President Allison Chin in the group's first act of Civil Disobedience in its 120-year history.
