Greenpeace East Asia’s new report, Made in Taiwan – Government Failure and Illegal, Abusive and Criminal Fisheries, exposes the deep and systemic problems in Taiwan’s distant water tuna fisheries, revealing Illegal shark finning, labour and human rights abuses, and Taiwan’s failure to adequately address issues such as drug smuggling and murder at sea.

The report, which includes two new Greenpeace East Asia investigations, paints a comprehensive picture of an industry in crisis, managed by a Fisheries Agency that appears either unwilling or incapable of monitoring the out-of-control tuna industry.
