Greenpeace CEE Adria (Croatia and Slovenia) kayaktivists staged a protest in in Croatia holding banners reading PEACE, NOT OIL in front of the “NS LEADER”, a tanker bringing oil from Russia to the Oil Terminal at Omišalj, Krk Island in Croatia. Croatia and the EU continue importing fossil fuels from Russia and thus help finance Putin’s aggression against Ukraine.
Greenpeace demands that the Croatian government and the EU urgently stop importing oil, coal and fossil gas from Russia and speed up energy transition to renewables, for which Croatia has an outstanding potential.
