Greenpeace action at the Spanish Ministry of the Economy, Madrid, to protest at the dumping of foreign mercury waste at Almaden, southern central Spain between 1981 and 87. The recycling plant promised by the mercury company Minas de Almaden was never built. The waste is now to be landfill buried in an area protected for birdlife.
